Ex-RHCP Guitarist John Frusciante Announces Second Album as Electronic Alias Trickfinger
John Frusciante is best known for his work as guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Since officially parting ways with the band in 2009, Frusciante has refocused his compositional efforts towards electronic music.
Under the alias Trickfinger, Frusciante released his self-titled album in 2015. The project utilizes a variety of hardware synthesizers and drum machines recorded directly to a cheap CD burner to create a unique acid-house sound.
Fans of Aphex Twin will likely enjoy Trickfinger’s music. The beats are mechanical and heavy, often featuring pulsating 303 arpeggios and precisely programmed drums.
The album Trickfinger II will be released on Oliver Bristow’s Acid Test label on September 8, 2017.
