New York's Iconic Webster Hall is Closing its Doors
The venue, as it is known today, will host its last event on August 5th.
New York City’s most famous concert venue and nightclub Webster Hall will be closing for renovation in August of 2017. On April 2nd it was announced that Webster Hall was sold to AEG and Brooklyn Sports Entertainment, the company behind NYC’s Barclays Center and Terminal 5.
Since 1992 the venue has been operated by the Ballinger Brothers. During their reign Webster Hall has received abundant notoriety for its success as a venue. According to Pollstar Magazine Webster Hall is New York City’s number 1 club venue by ticket sales, and the third best selling club venue in the world.
Webster Hall’s general manager posted on his Facebook Sunday:
It is unclear for exactly how long the venue will be closed, but expect a re-opening at least a couple of years down the road.
Webster Hall’s impact on the New York City music scene will never be forgotten.
