Watch the Real Beauty of House Music Through this Collaborative Orchestra Performance
Just when you thought house music couldn’t get any better, London native DJ, producer, singer, and songwriter Shift K3Y has taken this genre to the next level. Lewis Jankel, or as we know him, Shift K3Y, played his music live alongside The London Mozart Players. The London Mozart Players are the UK’s longest standing chamber orchestra. This marks not only a benchmark for his personal career, but for London’s music scene as a whole. This performance took classical music from a group of musicians founded all the way back in 1949 and mixed it with the new and thriving scene of electronic dance music. Though mixing the sounds of an orchestra and with electronic music is not a new concept, it is one that has only been touched upon by the most daring artists in the industry.
“I was interested to work on this collaboration with the LMP as it’s an opportunity to add an extra dimension to a DJ set and bring some of the tracks alive” – Shift K3Y
This performance marks firsts for both Shift K3Y and the London Mozart Players. It marks the first time that the Lindon Mozart Players have ever worked with an electronic music producer. This collaboration also serves as the first time that Shift K3Y has ever worked with a live orchestra. After several months of work together, the finished product is something you don’t want to miss.
