Marshmello Unveils Collab with Lil Peep, Nicky Romero Celebrates his Labels Success, and Other Releases This Week

Welcome back to Word of Mouth, where the hottest dance music releases from this week are brought right to your front door. This week is full dance music’s finest producers giving us their latest work, including hot new singles, fresh remixes, and one insane EP. Let’s get started.

Spotlight - Marshmello x Lil Peep

The music industry was sent into a world of dismay when rising talent Lil Peep passed away from a drug overdose last November. At this time, Peep was in the midst of multiple collaborations, including one with Marshmello. The masked DJ/producer only decided to release the track after Peep’s mother requested his music be shared with the world. “Spotlight” moves away from Marshmello’s usual bubbly style and features Lil Peep’s pop-punk vocals that has served as a crossroad between hip-hop and emo in his tunes.

PRTCL - Nicky Romero

Since the beginning of his career, Nicky Romero has made waves. Not only has he found major success with singles like “Camorra” and “SOTU”, he’s also taken a leap every artist would love to do in their career: kickstart their own label. Protocol Recordings has made waves since its inception 5 years ago. To celebrate it’s success, Nicky Romero has dropped its 100th release, entitled “PRTCL”. With a house anthem like this, we can only dream to see what Nicky Romero and Protocol Recordings has cooking for us in 2018.

Let The Games Begin - ReauBeau and Heuse

Undoubtedly, up-and-comer ReauBeau had a fantastic 2017. The Dutch producer recieved plenty of attention from some big names, including an edit from Dyro of his tune “Lost in Nightlife” and a remix of his collab with Snavs, “Dreams”, by Tiësto. His latest track with Heuse, “Let The Games Begin”, will continue to launch him on an upward spiral. Don’t sleep on ReauBeau.

Storm - QUIX

Quix is one of the most talented and unique trap artists out there, and he’s kicking off his STORM Tour with a bang. Alongside the announcement of his tour, QUIX dropped his newest single by the same name. “STORM” is a hard hitting trap tune that retains his unique sound and absolutely bangs. He’d been relatively quiet since the release of his Heaps Cool EP, only dropping a collaborative remix with What So Not since. Hopefully, this is just the start of new QUIX tunes.

Infected - GARABATTO & Charlee Muse

GARABATTO is truly one to watch. After releasing a phenomenal remix of Martin Garrix and David Guetta’s “So Far Away”, the rising Panda Funk star has teamed up with Charlee Muse for their latest track, “Infected”. The tune is a slow, melodic joint that truly enthralls the listener throughout. While it’s not a tune that’ll get the dance floor moving, it’s certainly an enchanting one.

One Thing Remixes - San Holo

San Holo knows how to keep his fans happy. Shortly after the release of his EP, The Trip, San Holo has shared a remix compilation for his track, “One Thing”. The remixers include ILIVEHERE., Marcioz, and GOSLO. While the original release was mesmerizing enough, this group of talented producers have put a pleasant and fresh take on the tune.

Master of Shadows EP - Datsik

Our favorite ninja is back in action. Datsik has been a trendsetter in the bass music scene since his inception, and last year’s Sensei EP furthers that fact. This year, he’s coming in hot with yet another EP full of heat. Featuring collaborations with Virtual Riot, Ganja White Night, Excision and Dion Timmer, and more, Master of Shadows is truly the EP we’ve all been waiting for. Trust us, with a release like this, his Ninja Nation Tour is something you’d be foolish to miss out on.
