EDM.com Presents: The House Brew, Vol. 11
Skream, Spencer Brown, Dosem, and more feature in the June 2022 edition of The House Brew.
Even more than a year after his death, Avicii's absence is sorely felt - and his impact extends beyond the EDM community. Case in point: The Swedish Army's Beridna Högvakten (Berid High Guard) and Livgardets Dragonmusikkår (Life Guards' Dragoon Music Corps) recently joined up to perform a medley of the late producer's most popular music.
The mobile troops, who each specialize in ceremonial activities and parades, convened in front of the Royal Palace in Stockholm. As can be seen in the below recording, they started with a rendition of "Without You," transitioned into "Hey Brother" and then wrapped up with "Wake Me Up."
Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) was found dead on April 20th of last year in Muscat, Oman. His cause of death was later determined to be a suicide, prompting his family to announce the launch of the Tim Bergling Foundation, an organization that supports suicide prevention and other mental health initiatives, to coincide with the anniversary of his passing.
Avicii's final album, Tim, is also due out sometime this year. In the meantime, listen to its lead single, "SOS" featuring Aloe Blacc, here.
