Diplo Parachuted into the Venue for his InfieldFest Set During the Preakness Stakes
While Diplo is known for his multi-genre production capabilities and willingness to step outside the box, what he is not known for is subtlety. At risk of not making a grand entrance, he enlisted the help of the professional skydiving team, Team Fastrax for a one-of-a-kind skydiving entrance leading up to a recent performance.
His grand entrance occurred just before his set and just after the arrival of the United States Navy's parachute team, the Leap Frogs.
All of this occurred in honor of Diplo's performance at InfieldFest, a music festival hosted inside the infield of the 144th Preakness Stakes, a long-running horse race held at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. Alongside Diplo, other performers at the event included Kygo, Logic, Fisher, and more.
To say Diplo (real name Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr.) has been busy lately is a drastic understatement. In just the past week, he was featured on a track with Madonna and Quavo of Migos, titled "Future," he released a Major Lazer track featuring Skip Marley, and was featured in the music video for "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus alongside Chris Rock.
