The lineup announcements for Porter Robinson's recently rebranded Second Sky Festival are beginning to get bigger and better. Yesterday he revealed that he would perform the only "Worlds Live" set of 2019 at the festival, and today he's added Madeon to the entertainment roster.
Robinson's working relationship with Madeon (real name Hugo Pierre Leclercq) extends back to 2016 when they collaborated on "Shelter" and embarked on a tour of the single's namesake. Music aside, the two artists share a love of anime and manga in common and Robinson has referred to Leclercq as one of his best friends.
Robinson originally announced his festival as a partnership with Goldenvoice called Multiverse Music Festival. He came under fire when promoters of a small DIY festival called the Multivrs is Illuminated wrote an open letter claiming that launching a festival of a similar name was "a continuation of the ongoing violence and discrepancies in power that continue to produce disenfranchisement within cultural production." G Jones, Nina Las Vegas, Kero Kero Bonito, Cashmere Cat and Anamanaguchi are also included on the lineup of Robinson's event.
Porter Robinson's Second Sky Festival will take place on Saturday, June 15th Middle Harbor Shoreline Park in Oakland, California. Presale tickets will be available tomorrow and can be found here.
