As a statement on equality in the music industry, Primavera Sound has booked an equal number of male and female performers for its 2019 edition. The Barcelona, Spain music festival's previous entertainment rosters have not featured such a clear-cut ratio.
The gathering's electronic music offerings fall closer to the house and techno end of the spectrum, with Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin, Helena Hauff and Modeselektor among the more notable acts. Cardi B, Tame Impala, Erykah Badu and J Balvin account for its more pop-friendly billings.
Primavera Sound's organizers have made it their mission to “embrace the new generation of music, without forgetting how we got here.” The festival has taken place annually since 2001.
The 19th edition of Primavera Sound will take place at Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain from May 30th-June 1st, 2019. To purchase tickets or find out more information about the festival, visit the event website.
