Iceland’s Midnight Sun music and culture festival, Secret Solstice, is back for its sixth edition this year. The festival will take place from June 21st-23rd in Reykjavik, Iceland as it has the past five years. In addition to the music, stunning glacier and lava tunnel parties will follow suit.
As it takes place over the fabled Midnight Sun weekend during the summer solstice, festivalgoers will experience nearly 72 hours of sunlight. Because of how close Iceland is situated to the arctic circle, the nation gets the full-on effect of seasonal changes on a unique scale, resulting in this phenomenon.
The festival dropped a stacked phase one lineup earlier in the year with headliners Robert Plant & the Sensational Shape Shifters, Martin Garrix, and Rita Ora across its three days in the capital city. In addition, organizers have made some noteworthy additions to that lineup with phase two.
The legendary Black Eyed Peas will bring their irresistible blend of pop and hip-hop to Secret Solstice’s Valhalla main stage on Saturday, while the queen of punk rock and Robert Plant & the Sensational Shape Shifters will headline the festival’s final night on the main stage. Hip-hop icons The Sugarhill Gang with Grandmaster Melle Mel & Scorpio (of the Furious 5) will also be joining the festivities.

While attendees can surely look forward to some of Iceland’s finest established and up-and-coming talent, the weekend will have an eclectic collection of top international acts as well. Featuring 40 acts across dance music, electronic, hip-hop, pop, and rock including Boy Pablo, Foreign Beggars, Kerri Chandler, Morcheeba, MK, Pussy Riot, and many more, attendees will have the opportunity to experience a one-of-a-kind festival while admiring the natural beauty of Iceland.
For the past five years, Secret Solstice has brought together diverse lineups featuring powerhouse and emerging acts. While the natural beauty of the venue itself has been vastly explored, some of the highlights of the festival include exclusive glacier and lava tunnel parties, catering to adventure and destination festivalgoers with a passion for the outdoors.
Secret Solstice is steadily establishing itself as an immersive music and adventure festival and tickets and more information for the 2019 edition can be found here.
