Revelers looking forward to seeing Diplo perform at Imagine Music Festival were met with unfortunate news Thursday night. The Mad Decent label head was forced to cancel his Friday evening closing set. The event's organizers have announced that Shaquille O'Neal A.K.A. DJ Diesel will play a 75-minute set in his place.
A tweet from the festival's account cited "unforeseen circumstances" as the culprit for the cancellation. Organizers shared an updated schedule graphic to show O'Neal following Canadian midtempo producer Rezz closing out the event with a set from 1:45-3:00 AM on the Oceania stage.
Festivalgoers have predictably vented their frustrations with the turn of events. "Shaq replacing Diplo as headliner at a major EDM festival is as crazy as Diplo replacing Shaq as starting center in an NBA Finals [game]," read one tweet.
