Pinterest Report Predicts "Rave Culture" as One of 2023's Top Trends
New research from Pinterest suggests that rave culture and fashion will trend in 2023, a key indicator for brands and event organizers across the globe.
The data comes from "Pinterest Predicts 2023," the social media company's report which identifies and analyzes future trends. Pinterest, which claims its platform attracts 400 million people each month, has kept their thumb on the pulse of cultural trends—in fact, they say 80% of their forecasts have come true over the last three years.
The report touches on a number of trends, like rustic weddings, dual hair colors, mushroom-themed home decor and other fanciful fads. However, our readers will be most thrilled to hear that Pinterest believes "rave culture" is on the rise.
Their research cites a number of this year's biggest trending searches, like "house music outfits" and "techno style." The phrase "Berlin rave fashion" saw a search boost of 250%, while "music mixer” increased by 115% and "rave party aesthetic" by 35%.

Why are we seeing this trend towards rave style, now?
"Rave culture will reign in the year ahead," the report reads. "As Gen Z and Millennials recover from over two years in lockdown, they’ll take over nightclubs, warehouses and house parties all over the globe. Techno style, rave fashion and house music outfits are all trending up."
According to Pinterest, these trends are generated from the company's analysis of search data spanning the period of September 2020 to September 2022. The insights are "based on months of data, rigorous analysis and evaluation by a cross-functional team of Pinterest employees."
Only time will tell what’s in store for rave style and fashion in the future. Will promoters and venues take to Pinterest for inspiration on the decor of their next events? Which countries other than Berlin may experience a spike in rave culture searches?
