After delivering multiple critically-acclaimed remixes - their latest being for trance icon Armin van Buuren's “Phone Down” just over a month ago - BRKLYN (real names Cameron Trowbridge and Cody Nadeau) are here to officially release their first original single of 2019 with “Can’t Take My Money.”
Combining their alternative past and current electronic flair, Trowbridge and Nadeau’s unique sound consists of energizing melodies, live instruments, and sincere, heartfelt lyrics. With help from Niko the Kid and RVRB on writing and production elements, the song was completed within just a couple of hours. Though “Can’t Take My Money” has a lighthearted exterior, the L.A.-based duo wanted to preserve their distinctly emotional style by having passionate, relatable lyrics to which anyone can sing along.
“The song is about how we shouldn’t take money so seriously as it won’t matter in the afterlife," the duo said about the meaning behind the track. "So, you should spend it on things that will make you and others happy – doing things for the greater good of people and brightening their day.”
