This spring, The Chemical Brothers will release their ninth studio album, No Geography via Astralwerks. After dropping the first track from the effort last year, the duo have now released “MAH” alongside a manic video.

The song was premiered on Zane Lowe’s World Records earlier this week. The accompanying visuals were filmed at the band’s recent sold-out London shows at Alexandra Palace. Directed by Marcus Lyall and featuring visuals he created alongside Adam Smith, the two-and-a-half minute video captures a taste of the band’s live spectacle, regarded as one of the best shows in the world.

“MAH” apparently gets its name from the song's aggressive hook, “I’m mad as hell, I ain’t gonna take it no more.” Adding the rage to the hook are the almost livid-sounding synths and percussive additions by the duo stamping it with their trademark punch.

The release follows 2018’s exuberant anthem by Ed Simons and Tom Rowland (A.K.A. The Chemical Brothers), “Free Yourself,” from the new album. While the legendary duo almost had a radio silence when it came to original new music after their Grammy-nominated 2015 album, Born In the Echoes, they did continue touring with their spectacular live shows.

Having sold more than 12 million albums and six million singles worldwide, they were also the very first electronic act ever to receive a Grammy Award. Their win in the Best Rock Instrumental Performance category for “Block Rockin’ Beats” was the first of four.

In addition to the new music and details of the album, The Chemical Brothers have also announced their first U.S. live shows since 2015. The spring 2019 North American run will see the pair perform in Mexico City, followed by two stops in Los Angeles and a final show in San Francisco. The Black Madonna is set to join the duo as a special guest for the Los Angeles and San Francisco shows.
