Already an irresistible track, Lorde’s “SuperCut” has been given new life after being reimagined through the lens of Denver-based electronic-pop duo, Chitchat. Marking their debut cover and first label release, the track comes by way of the beloved YouTube channel-turned record label imprint, Proximity.
Comprised of Madisen Vogel and Josh Kern, the two have transformed the uptempo hit single into a warm, emotive, house-influenced masterpiece. Reminiscent of Hayden James and Disclosure, the tune carries a nostalgic-tinge similar to the soundtracks heard in coming-of-age rom-coms. Soothing, impassioned, and groovy, Chitchat’s “Supercut” remix is a track built for feel-good summer playlists.
The cover’s release is also accompanied by an official music video on Chitchat’s YouTube channel. Encapsulating true retro-vibes, the aesthetic of neon lights downtown and a vintage film filter layered over top, the visuals pair harmoniously with the song’s sentimental feel.
In celebration of the release, Chitchat will be performing their first-ever live set at Rocky Mountain Recorders in Denver, Colorado on August 24th. For more information, visit here. The two also have an upcoming performance set for September 6th at Greeley Block Party on the Jager Stage. Fans can expect original tracks to arrive shortly, as the duo has alluded to upcoming releases via social media.
