Every week there seems to be something new in the works for the superstar producer Diplo. On top of being featured in the music video for Lil Nas X's chart-topping hit "Old Town Road" today, he is also dropping a song with the legendary queen of pop, Madonna. "Future" - which features Quavo, of Migos - has Major Lazer influence written all over it. It's a new-age Caribbean dancehall track that hits right in time for Summer. This is the first single off Madonna's forthcoming album, Madame X.
The track opens with Madonna's chanting vocals and an understated piano chord. The whirling effects and bounce spice the track up and is a clear stamp of Diplo's flair. The horns are a classic dancehall addition and Quavo's verse brings it up to radio likability. It's a funky new way to hear Madonna's iconic vocals.
As previously stated, Diplo doesn't seem to sleep. He's been keeping active with a role in the POKÉMON: Detective Pikachu movie, his new country alter-ego Thomas Wesley, and his popular new trio, LSD. He wears many hats and accelerates in all of them. There truly is no stopping this man.
