Thomas Wesley Pentz, better known by his stage name Diplo is one of the most well-known names in dance music. May it then be for his projects like Major Lazer and Jack Ü or his solo work as Diplo, he is undoubtedly a dynamic force in music today. Having put releases on his solo project on a sort of backseat for a while now, after five long years he is finally back with a six-track EP and sure as hell it's power-packed and loaded with top collaborators.
Going with the name of the state where he recorded the EP, California is something of a full circle moment for Diplo, who called his debut album Florida after the state where he grew up.
The six-track EP's new music see's Diplo collaborating with old friends and new discoveries alike. From Lil Xan, Trippie Redd and DRAM to Lil Yachty, Desiigner, and MØ among others. It's a known fact that when Diplo does something, he goes the whole hog. And to accompany the new tracks, emerging star February James created nine original portraits for the EP’s artwork, while longtime collaborators Brandon Dermer and Shomi Patwary contributed visuals.
