In "why hasn't this already happened" news, it appears as though two EDM heavyweights may be working on a track together.
Ekali is one of the fastest-rising stars in bass music whereas Skrillex's monumental breakout took place nearly a decade ago. It makes sound business sense for both artists to converge on a piece of music, and according to the former's Instagram Story it may be on the way.
That information may not have been intended for the masses at this stage, however. The still image of an open project file named "Ekali & Skrillex - ID1" has since been deleted, leaving fans to speculate on whether the release will ever see the light of day.

Although they have yet to release a proper collaboration together, this isn't the first time the two artists' paths have intersected. Two years ago, Skrillex teamed up with Ronny J on a remix of Ekali's "Babylon" featuring Denzel Curry.
Skrillex will resume touring with a performance at EDC Mexico in Mexico City on February 23rd. Ekali's next scheduled gig is further out; he's slated to take the stage at the Knitting Factory in Boise, Idaho on March 21st.
