SKRILLEX’S REMIX OF KENDRICK LAMAR’S ‘HUMBLE’ IS HERE! [LISTEN]
The internet has been ablaze with fervor since Skrillex announced he would be releasing his highly anticipated “Humble” remix today.
Although he’s been pretty quiet on the music front, all signs indicate he has a lot of tunes he’s sitting on. Hopefully, this is the first of many official releases.
Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” is arguably one of the most popular songs of the year. Skrillex, continuing to venture into trap territory, takes it for a spin made for the dance floor. Stripping away most of the elements, he lets Kendrick’s voice take center stage, complimenting his fierce vocals by adding a simple ominous beat.
That’s before the drop. Intoxicating in it’s own right, it has a sense of energy only Skrillex can bring to a song. Characterized by abrasive growls and bursts of bass, the soundscape is menacing.
