One thing is for sure, Joji knows how to create amazing videos. It's a talent that boosted him to the level of cult following he finds himself at today. Combined with his ability to produce interesting and captivating music makes him a serious powerhouse in this industry.

He's now back to introduce "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK", his first new song since May's "YEAH RIGHT" single. It is the latest single from his forthcoming album BALLADScoming soon via 88rising.

The song sounds as if it is a beautiful, melancholy lullaby. Joji has some amazing vocals. The down-tempo trap and soulful melody are classic to his styling but yet always feel fresh. In the video accompanying "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK" we see Joji as half man half goat? Ala Mr. Tumnus? The slow dance in the dark turns into him stumbling to his death. These visually stimulating, bizarre videos somehow make his music sound even better.

Written by Joji and produced in collaboration with Chairlift's Patrick Wimberly (production credits include Beyonce, Solange, MGMT, among others), "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK" is Joji’s take on the ultimate power ballad/torch song. Performed for the first time in May 2018 at Blurry Visions festival in Oakland, CA, "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK" is one of Joji's most highly-anticipated releases to date, with bootleg copies from his performance of the song already garnering 500K views on YouTube and already inspiring covers and remakes on the platform. The track is being released in tandem with a music video directed by Jared Hogan, who previously directed the video for Joji's "Demons", which was awarded both a Vimeo 'Staff Pick' and a Nowness 'Picks' award, instantly garnering praise from the acclaimed Japanese visual artist Takashi Murakami.

This Fall, Joji will be co-headlining the 88rising Head In The Clouds Festival in Los Angeles, CA and joining the rest of the 88rising crew across North America on the '88 Degrees & Rising Tour'. Tickets for the tour can be purchased HERE.
