One might not expect to hear R&B superstar Khalid on the soundtrack of an action-packed Hideo Kojima video game. For the soundtrack for the legendary game creator's latest release, DEATH STRANDING: Timefall, however, Khalid and the Diplo-fronted electronic outfit Major Lazer teamed up on a new single.

The new release, titled "Trigger," is a lot more chilled-out than the amped-up vibe of a game like DEATH STRANDING - but it sits well on the soundtrack among works from CHVRCHES, Bring Me The Horizon, Alan Walker, and more. "Trigger" is a low key love song, with the classic dancehall-inspired themes for which Major Lazer are so well known sprinkled in throughout a more R&B-centric production. Khalid lays down the vocals just as well as ever, tying together the warm atmosphere of the track.

This collaboration is the fourth single released from the DEATH STRANDING soundtrack, and is offered up as an instant download for fans who pre-order the album. It follows previously released tracks “Ghost” by Au/Ra and Alan Walker, “Yellow Box” by The Neighbourhood and “Death Stranding” by CHVRCHES.

"Trigger" by Major Lazer & Khalid is out now and can be found here
