Martin Garrix Fires Up the Nostalgia Machine With Euphoric EP, "IDEM"
Capping off the rollout of a stunning new EP, Martin Garrix's latest offering is a euphoric festival anthem that delves into the depths of a shattered heart.
The Dutch EDM superstar has now released IDEM after releasing all four of its tracks in consecutive weeks. This time around he's reunited with DubVision for "Empty," firing up the nostalgia machine to produce a soaring progressive house anthem featuring Jaimes.
Garrix and DubVision masterfully weave a tapestry of sound that captures the anguish of a heart forever scarred, yet resilient in its refusal to be saved. Like shards of glass, the track's lyrics cut through its blissed-out melodies to reveal a guarded soul grappling with the relentless onslaught of heartbreak.
"Don't you try to change me, it's a waste of time / Don't reach for my heart, it's empty inside," croons Jaimes.
