MAZZA has teamed up with fellow Seattle-based producer Yami for "Twister," a haunting and soaring bass track.

The tandem have reunited to produce the dynamic song, an amalgamation of melodic dubstep, trap and Wave music. Singer-songwriter Kate Foster contributes a poignant topline as her vocals pull us in and beautifully contrast the arrangement's intense, genre-bending drops.

Taking a closer listen, the lyricism in "Twister" explores pain, heartbreak and uncertainty, embodying a melancholic undertone while providing a glimmer of hope. It pairs seamlessly with the track's unique and uplifting sound design.

"This experience taught me so much about myself and my love for music," Yami said in a press release. "Through months of collaboration between the three of us, I think we were able to create something very special."

Hailing from San Fransisco, Foster has a penchant for writing memorable lyrics and executing them to boot. She has fronted several rock bands, written and produced her own singles, and written with an array of artists from many genres.

“One particularly exciting moment for me about this song was when we first got the initial draft of the vocals from Kate," MAZAA added. "I think we were both blown away with the talent and potential, and knew with her help we could really create a quality track together.”

Yami is currently supported by LGCY, an Asian-American music collective supporting the creative arts. MAZAA is also in a local music collective called LGCY and has had the opportunity to open for Trivecta, Crystal Skies and ARMNHMR, among others.
