MELVV Melds Talents with Manila Killa and Sophia Black for "Right Side Up"
"Right Side Up" is the latest from 21-year-old electronic producer MELVV (real name Jeffrey Melvin). The track is a future bass collaboration with Manila Killa (real name Chris Gavina) featuring vocals from Sophia Black.
Released April 5th through Atlantic Records, "Right Side Up" is a bouncy bass track with indie roots. Black's lilting voice floats over poppy melodies, giving it a timely spring vibe.
A Wisconsin native, Melvin is currently on tour supporting San Holo, Jai Wolf and Manila Killa on their respective headlining runs. Although yet to release a full-length album or EP, he quickly developed a signature synth-heavy, beat-driven sound and has produced collaborations with Kennedi, Two Feet and MOONZz.
Manila Killa, born in the U.S., started producing while living in the Philippines, providing inspiration for his moniker. Known for his work both individually and his work on the Hotel Garuda project with Aseem Mangaokar, which lasted until 2018, Gavina triumphs in his role as an innovative electronic producer. His debut album, 1993, came out February 22nd.
