NERVO keep on their hot streak this year, releasing another uplifting single with "Sober." The duo (comprised of twin sisters Olivia and Miriam Nervo) has been staying fairly active in 2019, releasing almost a handful of singles, despite both announcing that they are expecting soon back in January.
Their latest solo release "Sober" comes out via Casablanca Records, and show a softer side of the duo. Bridging expert songwriting with electronic production, the instrumentation is tied perfectly around the vocals. Starting with impactful guitar chords and subtle melodic elements, "Sober" gets into action quickly, reaching the drop where a whistling melody perfectly completes the atmosphere and adds to the depth of the track.
“We wanted to make a record that worked on the dance floor for the summer but also had some lyrical substance," NERVO said in a joint statement. "We've all had those sobering moments when you realize a relationship isn't what you thought it was and this is what this song is about. It's a melancholy summer song. Hopefully people will be able to relate while having a dance at the same time.”
