EDM's "Space Mom" Rezz and anonymous, masked maestro Malaa have teamed up for a massive new collaboration titled "Criminals." Just in time for Halloween, this spooky new single is just as dark as you'd expect from the duo.
The industrial midtempo sound for which Rezz (real name Isabelle Rezazadeh) has become so well known is prevalent in "Criminals." A pitched-down vocal sample lends the buildups big energy before the distorted bass and powerful drums hit at each drop. Though it may be slightly out of the realm of what Malaa fans are used to, the collaboration works extremely well, and is a perfectly dark offering that any of Rezazadeh's fans will enjoy.
An accompanying video flashes red and white lights as computer-generated visages of Rezazadeh and Malaa appear on the screen. Their near-silhouettes make his mask and her goggles barely visible, but the darkness of the "Criminals" music video sets the perfect tone for the track itself.
