Today we were blessed by the Aussie legends, RÜFÜS DU SOL with the reveal of a music video for the captivating track, 'No Place'. The trio, consisting of members Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George, and James Hunt, transcend the scene of indie electronica.

They have perfected the art of sonic storytelling and the visuals for 'No Place' prove to be the perfect accompaniment. The video plays on the idea of transporting oneself through the power of your imagination. Being in a certain situation does not mean that has to be your state-of-mind. They use the contrast of the desolate desert and the rippling shores of a beach at sunset to convey this beautiful mentality. These two polar landscapes are inspirations for the soon to be released album 'Solace' out in the Fall of 2018 on Reprise Records.

In the words of the No Place video director Alex George, ‘In the video, the robes are a way of travel… through time and dimensions. We don't know. It’s that feeling of when you're at the beach and you're rugged up in a towel with just the sun peeking through. There is something about that feeling. About being in yourself and being somewhere very specific. I think I'm only recently starting to understand real gratitude. It always felt like this feeling you had to feel when someone gives you something. But it snuck up on me. What that feeling actually is. That's what the song is about to me. Realizing out of all the infinite possibilities and places you could be, you are here. And it's great.’

The boys have spent the past year in Venice, CA, writing and recording its third album, which is largely influenced by the stark desert landscapes of California and the band’s experiences on the road.

Every time I hear a RÜFÜS DU SOL song I sigh a sigh of pure bliss. Their music is straight ear porn. If you are anything like me, make you check the group out on tour.
