Rusko Delivers Five-Track EP, MEGARAD, via Deadbeats
Rusko fans are in for a treat - or five treats, to be exact. The U.K. DJ/producer has released a five-song EP titled MEGARAD on Zeds Dead's Deadbeats imprint. What's more, he took the opportunity to demonstrate that he's no one-trick pony when it comes to bass music.
Songs like "Squirrel Beta," "Spatula" and "Squeeze (Burnin)" encapsulate the high-energy dubstep sound for which Rusko (real name Christopher Mercer) became a household name among electronic music fans. The EP offers more than that, though. "Open The Feeling" distinctly hints at the 2-step garage from which dubstep evolved, and "Hardcore Raven" offers up a fresh take on drum and bass.
Rusko is certainly no stranger to either of the aforementioned genres. Although his name practically became synonymous with dubstep during the genre's 2010-2012 explosion, his career as a DJ extends back several years further. Most recently, however, he's even tried his hand at hardstyle by collaborating with up-and-comer Ducky.
