Skrillex Announces Remix of "Due West" by Kelsey Lu
Between the upcoming EP under he and Boys Noize's Dog Blood project and solo "bodies of work" sometime thereafter, Skrillex has a lot in the works. The Los Angeles DJ/producer expressed plans to break off individual tracks beforehand, and it looks like the first of which will be a remix of Kelsey Lu's 2018 single "Due West."
Skrillex (real name Sonny Moore) tweeted that his remix of "Due West" would arrive on Friday, May 24th. He had worked alongside Lu on the original, whose syncopated drum pattern underscored instrumental and ambient elements.
Lu isn't the only pop songstress with whom Moore has worked in recent months. Towards the beginning of the year, he and Elohim released a single titled "Buckets" that came out on his OWSLA imprint. On the EDM side of things, he also has collaborations with ETC!ETC! and DJ Snake in the works.
