Several months after his passing, XXXTentacion remains a polarizing figure in music. Around the same time a recording surfaced that implicated him for violent acts, Skrillex has shared a track he produced for the late rapper.
"Arms Around You" saw XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Onfroy) collaborate with fellow Floridian Lil Pump and also featured verses by Swae Lee and Maluma. The song encapsulates Onfroy's emotive fusion of R&B and hip-hop, but the inventive production style of Skrillex (real name Sonny Moore) can scarcely be distinguished in its moombahton-reminiscent beat.
The single has sparked its fair share of controversy on social media as Moore's fans have publicly denounced him for supporting a musician accused of domestic abuse - even in death. It's not the first time Moore has come under fire for the association. Following Onfroy's death in June, Diplo had tweeted, "it was one of his goals to get me & Skrillex to finish his next album."
