Australian DJ/producer/instrumentalist Timothy Jude Smith, known professionally as Timmy Trumpet, is here to make your new year a lot more groovy with his latest release. "Wassup (Listen To The Horns)", features New Jersey's own Kastra and vocals from legendary house singer Chuck Roberts.
Out now on TMRW Music, this track is a tip of the hat to house music of the past. Famous for his use of raw instruments in both his music and live performances, Smith knows how to get the party started. This song follows on brand with purely good vibes.
The track opens with a funky bass line and Robert's iconic sermon-like vocals. The uptempo dance track has a poppy chorus accompanied with Trumpet's infectious horns; it's bound to get you moving with a smile on your face.
Smith has been taking the industry by storm since he entered back in 2010. He is currently ranked #33 on the DJ Mag Top 100 and is known most notably for delivering his trademark high-energy live instrumentation performances.
Speaking on his year in 2018, Smith had this to say: “I released more music than ever before and toured non-stop, hitting some of the biggest stages out there such as Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Ultra and EDC,” Smith enthused. “Collaborations with Maddix, Lady Bee, Max Vangelli and the mighty Hardwell are just a few standout production moments.”
With over 10 million accumulated streams on SounCloud, YouTube, and Spotify – as well as boasting support from Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Avicii, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Knife Party, Nicky Romero, and many more - Kastra has made quite a name for himself in a few short years. He's worked on some major collaborations with artists such as multiplatinum Grammy award winner Fatman Scoop and DJ Mag Top 100 artist DJ BL3ND.
Chuck Roberts is the legendary voice of Chicago house music, featured on the 1987 foundational house classic "My House" produced by Tony Lewis. The song spoke on inclusion and love as house music is a genre for everyone. Robert's vocals on this fresh 2019 track are something for which fans everywhere should rejoice.
