Wolfgang Gartner has released his latest single, titled "28 Grams." Having had an impressive 2018, amassing 19 million streams on Spotify and releasing his six-track EP Medicine, Wolfgang Gartner (real name Joseph Thomas Youngman) is aiming to keep up the momentum giving more back to his fans.
"28 Grams" comes fresh off a Coachella performance, and marks his second release for the year, following the heavy "Ectoplasm" which was released back in February.
As expected from Youngman, "28 Grams" marks yet another complextro release in his arsenal, allowing him to showcase his production skills acquired over the years, as well as blend classic and new sounds. Starting off with a funky, filtered-in intro, it builds up the energy and quickly hits the drop, where synths, plucks and saws are combined to create an energetic result over uplifting drum work. The second drop flips the script and goes in a melodic direction, continuing on the funky intro and making up for a pleasant surprise.
Though Wolfgang Gartner released his debut album Weekend In America in 2011, he had been active for a handful of years before that. Since then, the producer has released two more albums, and has collaborated with artists from Aero Chord, JayKode and fellow ALT:Vision signee k?d to deadmau5 and Skrillex.
