Since his self-titled EP in 2012, Marcel Everett, also known as XXYYXX has shown the world why he is the gold standard in electronic music production. At just 21 years of age, the enigmatic producer made serious waves in a difficult industry before he could even buy beer. Alongside a collaboration with Tory Lanez, his astronomically popular track “About You” was sampled by Chance the Rapper and SZA.

After a long two year absence, Everett is back with a brand new track “I Don't” featuring vocals from $K. The duo combines XXYYXX’s signature dark yet ethereal sound with $K’s mellow vocals, and the product is the soundtrack of a late night drive. The essence of a long, slow cruise is captured in The ambient-esque intro followed by the uplifting vocal samples is reminiscent of the intense bouts of over thinking that occurs when you hit the road with nowhere to go armed with nothing but your thoughts.

“I Don’t” is the first half of XXYYXX’s new two-track project set to be continued later this year. In addition to the new tracks, XXYYXX has announced a 17 city North American tour alongside Chrome Sparks.

Fans have a lot to look forward to in 2017! The release of the second track plus live dates should tide fans over if he decides to hibernate again.
