Adele Says New Album "Will Be a Drum and Bass Record to Spite You"
Adele has teased an endeavor that, if she's serious about it, would mark one of the biggest and most unexpected pop-EDM crossovers of the coming months. The English songstress has hinted at the release of a new album - a drum and bass effort.
In an Instagram post, Adele (whose full name is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins) shared reflections that may have stemmed in part from her recent separation with husband Simon Konecki. The now 31-year-old artist also suggested that she was working on a new album by writing, "Bunch of savages, 30 will be a drum and bass record to spite you."
It's not immediately clear whether Adkins made the remark in jest. Being that she garnered a global following for pop/soul hits like "Chasing Pavement" in 2008 and "Rolling in the Deep" in 2011, drum and bass would be a far cry from her typical style.
Drum and bass or otherwise, Adele has yet to reveal a release date, tracklist or any other information on 30 at the time of writing.
