The Swedish Grammys Dedicate Tribute Video to Avicii
Earlier this February, the Swedish Grammys (also known as Grammisgalan) released an emotional tribute video in honor of Tim Berling, whose music under Avicii was met with yearlong, worldwide praise. Avicii's father Klaus Bergling received an honorary award on his behalf, and the tribute video released by the Grammisgalan is moving fans all over the world.
Featuring Bergling's own music, most notably one of his most recognizable hits "Levels", the 3-minute long, heartwarming video depicts his rise to international stardom, as well as fellow musicians such as Steve Aoki and Tiësto paying him their respects.
Tim Bergling tragically passed away Muscat, Oman in April of 2018. The cause of his death was speculated to be suicide. Bergling was struggling with depression, drug and alcohol abuse, and had stopped performing shows since 2016 after his touring life took a toll on his mental health. His melodic, pop-influenced sound and immense songwriting ability won the hearts of millions within the past decade, and contributed to arguably transcending electronic music to new heights.
