It's been over four years since the viral track "I Took A Pill In Ibiza" by Mike Posner hit the airwaves and we are still getting more info from that wild night. In the track, Posner breaks down taking a pill while at an Avicii show in order to impress him. Just last year the man who supplied the mystery pill came forward and Twitter went wild. Here to add more to the developing story is DJ/producer Benzi who responded to a tweet asking followers to "Tweet your most random music fact."

In his response he confirms the song lyrics were, in fact, based on a real night. Posner had actually reached out to him to work on the track while he was still in Ibiza. Looks like inspiration hit him quickly that trip.

Posner recently finished up his walk across America, during which he stopped to record himself playing "I Took A Pill In Ibiza" in dedication to the late Avicii. He told CBS that his walk was his way of moving past recent tragedies and inspiring others to do the same. He was not only mourning the loss of his friend Avicii, but Mac Miller, and his father who passed away in 2017.

Benzi continues on as a leader in the mixtape game. He recently celebrated the release of Girl Trapz Radio Vol. 16 which came out October of this year. He is also recently launched his fresh indie imprint Parametric Records inside the Atlantic Records/WMG ecosystem.
