Caverns Ends Partnership With SVDDEN DEATH's Summoning of the Eclipse, Festival Canceled for 2024
The proprietors of The Caverns, a cave complex and concert venue in Tennessee, will no longer host SVDDEN DEATH's curated music festival, Summoning of the Eclipse, the DJ announced today.
The event debuted at The Caverns in 2022 and has since emerged as one of the nation's leading festivals for dubstep and bass music. SVDDEN DEATH, its founder, annually headlines.
The electronic music superstar, whose real name is Danny Howland, took to social media to bemoan the venue's decision "to no longer host" Summoning of the Eclipse, which will not take place at all in 2024.
"We threw a safe and successful festival two years in a row," Howland said. "I was the first DJ to play there, and helped build the venue's deserved reputation as an amazing destination location. I started Summoning as a celebration of the underground. To showcase me and my friends' art, and a place for all of us to cultivate a community."
"It's always been for fun, and for the art," he continues. "To say that I'm disappointed with Caverns' decision to no longer host is an understatement. We hope to continue Summoning Fest in a different, more inclusive area in 2025."
