This Thursday marked a really important date for electronic music; the debut of the very first official Electronic Music Awards. Organized by Paul Oakenfold and the Hunt & Crest entertainment company in Los Angeles, the event presented awards in 11 previously announced categories, ranging from Remix of the Year to Best Club to Radio Show of the Year.

The organizers partnered with Twitter who they had stream the night live, and Paul Oakenfold confessed he is already working on the next installments, with a high probability of the ceremony staying in LA for good.

Among the winners for 2017 are Illenium for Remix of the Year with his take on Flume's "Say It", Electric Daisy Carnival as Festival of the Year, and Eric Prydz as DJ of the Year.
