Controversial as it may be, the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs remains one of the most talked-about awards series in electronic music. For the third consecutive year, Martin Garrix has been declared #1 on the list.

#2 and #3 were Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Hardwell, respectively. The former duo held the same position as last year, and the latter moved up one position. Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Steve Aoki are among the familiar faces who grace this year's top ten.

Most notably, however, Jeffrey Sutorius of Dash Berlin placed at #52 - but separately from his former bandmates. The way the awards' organizers phrased his entry suggests that they might have taken his side in the well-publicized split.

The Top 100 DJs has received its fair share of criticism in recent years. After Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike won #1 in 2015, Hardwell famously called the Belgian brothers out via Twitter for sending marketing teams with iPads to nightclubs to help secure votes.
