Martin Garrix Forced to Cancel Upcoming Shows due to Injury
After sustaining a serious injury while performing in Las Vegas on May 25th, Martin Garrix has announced he will cancel all shows in the coming weeks. During his performance at OMNIA Nightclub, his set was cut short after he reportedly jumped from the stage. The 23-year old producer shared a video of himself riding in the back of the ambulance along with an image of his severely swollen ankle.
Martin Garrix (real name Martijn Gerard Garritsen) released a press statement in regards to his leave. He revealed that torn ligaments in his ankle require surgery to prevent further damage.
The Dutch DJ/producer was scheduled to perform at Ultra Korea, Spring Awakening, Secret Solstice, Escapade and Ushuaïa, as well as many more stops in the coming four weeks. He recently dropped his "Summer Days" video with Macklemore and Patrick Stump. With a schedule as hectic as his, a four-week hiatus may be good for the young producer.
