Go Back in Time with Daya and RL Grime in the Video for "I Wanna Know" [WATCH]
In the past few months since it's release date, "I Wanna Know" by RL Grime and featuring Daya has accumulated over eight million streams on Spotify alone, and over fourteen million streams globally. This is RL Grime's first record on the Top 10 US Dance Radio and hit #1 on iTunes in the US, Austrailia, and New Zealand. It is also the first single to come from his upcoming album, NOVA.
In the official music video for the track, Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Daya goes back to the early 2000's, adorning plaid jackets, bangs, and playing with Tamagotchis. Directed by Megan Park, the video celebrates female empowerment as Daya and friends dance at an old motel to the pop-like melody within the chorus.
Daya absolutely loved shooting the video, stating
I love the angle that Megan took on the messaging of the song; she took the desperation and hopelessness of the lyrics and spun them into more of an empowering feel through the gathering of supportive females in the space...excited for the world to see.
