Ternion Sound to Disband After 2025 Farewell Tour
Ternion Sound are disbanding after 2025, the electronic music trio announced today.
In a heartfelt statement, the group comprising Jack Denney, Aric Okerman and Andrew Hill expressed immense pride in their seven-year journey. Hill and his partner are now expecting their first child in March, and with various personal and professional factors in play, they've decided to bring the project to a close.
The origins of the Minneapolis-based trio can be traced back to 2016's Infrasound Music Festival, where each producer joined forces for an impromptu DJ set. They formed a partnership and quickly became known for their unique sound, which blends dubstep and experimental bass with reverence for the UK underground.
Ternion Sound's scintillating debut album Digital Artifice, released on Noisia's venerable VISION label back in October 2023, showcased their versatility through 26 tracks.

Denney, Okerman and Hill are now planning a farewell tour and are currently in talks with their favorite promoters, promising a memorable final chapter to their career. Fans can expect a tour flyer to release in the weeks ahead, they said.
"From the onset, we created Ternion Sound for specific reasons and we’ve tried to stay true to those the whole time: Playing on sound systems that honor the music, integrity in how we portray ourselves, education, sustainability, and freedom to explore compositionally inside of bass music," the group said in a statement. "Hopefully we’ve represented those ideals with our project and we hope to have inspired others to do the same."
