Ultra Mexico is unlikely to return in 2019. In a new story from EDMTunes, the festival's organizers did not address the question as to whether it has been discontinued in the near term. The Mexico City-based festival would be celebrating its third year in October, but there have been no updates to suggest that will happen.
A quiet suspension of Ultra Mexico would not necessarily be surprising. Last year, the festival suffered a series of setbacks, mainly due to severe weather. The rain delayed opening sets and impacted stages, which appeared to be incomplete in their construction at the time of opening. The cashless electronic payment network also went down during the event.
Despite the unlikelihood of an Ultra Mexico 2019, a one-day Ultra RESISTANCE event has been officially announced. RESISTANCE has been known to bring out the best in house and techno. Though no lineup has yet been revealed, ticket information is likely to be released soon.
