British trap lord TroyBoi (real name Troy Henry) is back after the success of his latest track, "Frustrated," with a brand new single titled "Say Yeah." Henry does not disappoint, delivering a funky amalgamation between his signature stylings with a new, edgy flair.
"Say Yeah" opens with an enchanting bass drone and pluck intro. Shiny chordal plucks enter in before the track's funky drop, which breaks into a minimal drum groove and iconic, monotone vocals. The world music-inspired vocal chops tie everything together beautifully. The second drop is a more trap-inclined version with booming 808s and trap hats.
“Say Yeah” adopts an atmospheric feel as his pitched-down vocals recite a mantra to live “life to the max.” “‘Say Yeah’ is a feel-good track,” TroyBoi has said. “It’s dedicated to everyone who works hard in life, lives it to the fullest, and takes cares of their family and friends.”
The anthemic track marks the second single from his highly anticipated EP, V!BEZ, Vol. 2 dropping November 9th via Diplo’s Mad Decent label.
V!BEZ Vol. 2 is the sequel to V!BES EP which he dropped on April 20th of this year. The six-track collection was some of his more experimental work to date. If that is any indication on how versatile Vol.2 will be, his fans are in for a treat.
Best known for his infectious hit “Afterhours” with Diplo and Nina Sky and the Flosstradamus-assisted banger “Soundclash,” the dynamic producer has dropped official remixes for Zayn, Billie Eilish, Missy Elliott, and Tinie Tempah, to name a few.
After a massive festival run this year playing the likes of Coachella, Lollapalooza, HARD Summer, Amsterdam Dance Event, Electric Zoo and many more, TroyBoi is gearing up for his V!BEZ Tour. Kicking off November 9th at the Showbox SoDo in Seattle, the fast-rising talent will be playing shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Denver, and Chicago.
